Last year, Friends of Embry Hills Library and its members wrote letters, sent postcards, and called our DeKalb Board of Commissioners to urge them to restore funding for our library staff and hours.
We are delighted to say that our Board of Commissioners listened to us, and the expanded hours make the excellent staff and resources of Embry Hills Library more available to the community.
The new hours are: Monday -Tuesday: 10 AM - 8 PM Wednesday - Saturday: 10 AM - 5 PM Sunday: Closed
Celebrating 25 Years
On Tuesday, August 16th, we celebrated 25 years of service by the Embry Hills Library to our community! See our gallery of pictures from our celebration of our wonderful staff and library.
Donating Books
The Friends of Embry Hills Library donated $1000 to the DeKalb County Public Library system for the purchase of new books and other materials. Look for the book plates in your books that say: "Donated by the Friends of Embry Hills Library"!
Initiating Programming
The Friends of Embry Hills Library conducted a survey to determine what kind of programming community members wanted. The survey results led our group to establishing and evening book group and to explore starting a tutoring program for elementary students.
